Nikon Metrology will attend Battery Tech Expo 2026, the UK’s largest event dedicated to the battery industry, bringing together battery manufacturers, materials suppliers, test laboratories, designers, engineers and technology specialists under one roof.
The event provides a platform to explore the latest innovations in battery technology, including cell design, materials, assembly, testing and safety, all essential elements in the evolving landscape of energy storage and electrification.
At the expo, Nikon will showcase how industrial X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) supports battery development and manufacturing by enabling non-destructive internal inspection and dimensional metrology. X-ray CT helps engineers and quality teams to :
- Identify internal defects, voids and structural inconsistencies within cells and packs
- Verify internal assembly and geometric integrity that is inaccessible to traditional inspection methods
- Support R&D and production quality assurance workflows with detailed 3D measurement data
Battery Tech Expo features an extensive speaker program and exhibition, offering insights on battery materials, management systems, storage strategies, performance improvement and emerging technologies. Chris Price, X-ray Product Manager at Nikon Metrology, will present the latest developments in battery inspection using industrial X-ray CT, highlighting how advanced metrology supports performance, safety, and innovation in battery technologies.
